June 8, 2004 VENUS TRANSIT EXPLAINED (See also 1 CIMI)

Transits of Venus across the disk of the Sun are among the rarest of planetary alignments. Indeed, only six such events have occurred since the invention of the telescope (1631, 1639, 1761, 1769, 1874 and 1882). The next two transits of Venus will occur on 2004 June 08 and 2012 June 06.

Global celebrations of human unity are being planned in conjunction with the Venus transit of 2004, and beyond.....

Venus has long been a significator of the Mesoamerican spiritual figure known as Feathered Serpent/ Kukulcan/ Quetzalcoatl. These various names refer to the "Christ of the Americas" , a redeemer figure whose prophecied return is directly tied to the cyclic journey of planet Venus through the heavens.

The importance of the pairing of the 2004 and 2012 Venus transits was revealed in the 1978 book Flight of the Feathered Serpent by Peter Balin. He stated:

The June date is very interesting because a rare planetary phenomenon occurs on that day. On an irregular but calculable course, the planet Venus will pass between the Earth and the Sun, when it will be seen as a black dot on the face of the Sun. The next transit will occur on June 8th, 2004, and last only a short while as it passes somewhat low on the disk; but on June 6th, 2012, the transit will last about eight hours as Venus will track across the widest area of the Sun, dead center. ( The last time this phenomena was observed was in 1882 and lasted only several minutes).

The mysterious worldwide appearance of crop circles of exquisite beauty and complexity calls for deeper investigation of this highly Venusian phenomenon.

Venus - the Planet of Love

Astrologers generally consider Venus to be the planet of love. This, however, is somewhat misleading. Venus describes the form in which an individual can recognize love or approval. The sign, house and aspects involving the natal Venus can describe the ways in which the person gained appreciation within the family structure. more

The Ankh and Venus

The astrological glyph representing planet Venus very much resembles the Egyptian ritual object known as the ankh.

The Rarest Eclipse: Transit of Venus

On June 8, 2004, astronomers in many parts of the world will watch as Venus moves across the disk of the Sun, one of the rarest planetary alignments. Only six Venus transits have occurred since the invention of the telescope in the 1600s.

Magellan Mission to Venus

Malvin Artley has returned from his personal journey across the USA and this article contains his reflections on the effects on his life and on ours of the recent Transit of Venus. Events are signposts, he argues. This view is especially significant in the light of the upcoming Grand Quintile aspect, a rare configuration of the heavens that has a definite esoteric correlation with the Venus Transit. Malvin also publishes a regular astrological newsletter, to which you can subscribe by clicking the link at the end of his article.
