Dear Friends,
People are calling it the astronomical event of the year. Mayans are pointing to it as something even grander: the prelude to the close of the Mayan sacred calendar in 2012.
I am talking, of course, about the upcoming transit of Venus across the face of the Sun on Tuesday, June 8, 2004. It pairs with a future Venus transit of the Sun on June 6, 2012. The 8 years between these two dates, represent a planet-wide entryway into expanded consciousness and global unity.
Every instinctual fibre in my body tells me that this is a truly auspicious threshold that could serve to catalyze a remarkable transformation of consciousness in all those who embrace it. And many will! June 6-8 is being promoted worldwide as the Call for Global Oneness, with June 6 being declared "World Artists Day". Organizers in India are calling for us to seize this moment, in the spirit of all things Venusian, and to come together to co-create a worldwide celebration focused on human unity:
Let us come together during this time in gatherings throughout the world to celebrate love and beauty, light and unity. Let us work with these expansive cosmic energies to anchor them deep into the heart of Earth Mother, deep into the human collective consciousness. Let us translate these energies into art, economics, culture, politics, education and ecology. Let us bring transformation into every field of human endeavor. Let us pray, each in our own way, for peace, healing, beauty, and enlightenment for all! We will continue building the momentum on this same day year after year for the next eight years until June 6, 2012.
Any of you who participated in the hugely successful 1987 worldwide celebration, Harmonic Convergence, will know that such a global celebration is eminently possible, especially with the advent of the internet as a tool for global networking.
My own attempt to understand the significance of the Venus transit in my life has prompted me to first look at where it impacts my natal birth chart. The transit occurs at Gemini 18 deg., thus aligning with my 11th house, the house of friends, hopes, wishes and ideals. So here I am, communicating with you all in a way that is beginning to incorporate the enhanced Venusian energies available. It feels really good to be doing this!
